THANKS HERRICKS!!
On Saturday night, the Herrick clan invited us over for a birthday dinner. Well, they called it a birthday dinner, but it turned out that it was a FEAST! They had shipped in fresh lobster from Maine so that we could have a bona fide surf and turf birthday dinner! Cool!!

Of course, fresh lobster meant that someone had to cook them. Aunt Emma started off all calm, cool and collected. Here she is "putting the lobster to sleep" by stroking his back.

She stayed cool about it all ... until the lobster hit the boiling water.

And then Aunt Emma remembered that she had to take care of Becca. Ummm, yeah. She couldn't cook the lobster cause she had to take care of Becca. Right.

So we got a new chef. :-) Thanks for coming to the rescue Uncle Pete! Not only was he in charge of the turf, but now he was in charge of the surf too!

During all of these lobster shenanigans, Dudley played it cool - outside.
Here's me and Becca waiting for the surf and turf to hit the table. It smelled soooooo good! Little did we know that we were not going to be allowed to partake in the gourmet meal. Rather, we both ended up with food from a jar instead of from Maine. Sweet peas for me. Oatmeal for Becca. We both finished our food. It was good. But it looked the big folks had the better end of the deal there! When the dust settled, there wasn't a morsel to spare!!
GREAT MEAL UNCLE PETE AND AUNT EMMA!!!
We had such a great time. And as if that wasn't enough ... we're going to a Yankees game with them in July! I can't wait for my first trip to Yankee Stadium! What a great birthday present!!!
